Luis Miguel Cobo

Originally from Spain, Luis Miguel is an award-winning composer who was worked extensively in film, theatre and dance. Dance credits include composing for companies such as Carte Blanche (Norway); Wiener Staatsballett; Ballet d’Europe; the National Dance Company of Spain, and choreographers such as Patrick de Bana, Marcos Morau (La Veronal), Ivan Perez (NDT) and Sharon Fridman. His music has been listened to in venues and festivals including Vienna’s Volksoper; Paris’ L'Opéra Royal de Versailles, Les jardins du Trocadéro and L’hôtel des Invalides; Colombia’s Bienal de Cali and the Marseille-Provence Capitale Europeene de la Culture 2013, amongst others. In 2018, he was the winner of Spanish national performing arts award, MAX, for his composition for Solitudes, for Kulunka Teatro.

Luis Miguel composed the original score for Mariposa: a Queer Tragedy Inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
