The Ham Will Be Back: DeNada to Tour Ham and Passion Nationally in 2017
We are delighted to announce DeNada has received Arts Council England funding for a second national tour of its triple bill of dance, Ham and Passion.
DeNada will tour its gender-bending evening of provocative dance theatre, which explores the history of sexuality in 20th century Spain, to over seven cities in the new year, following a very successful pilot tour in 2015/16, which had sold out performances in several cities, including London and Birmingham, and praise from national press such as "Perverse, sexy and flamboyant" The Observer, or "Extraordinarily powerful" Dance Europe.
The pilot tour of DeNada's Ham and Passion helped the company receive nominations for the 2016 UK Critics' Circle National Dance Awards, in the categories of Best Independent Company and Outstanding Female Performance (Modern) for Marivi Da Silva's role in Carlos Pons Guerra's Young Man!, part of Ham and Passion.
The tour will open at London's iconic Wilton's Music Hall on 21st February 2017, before continuing its runs across the UK from February-May 2017. A partially new cast of international dancers will join the company for this tour. A full list of performance dates and the new casting will be announced in early January 2017.
DeNada would like to thank all its friends, sponsors and Arts Council England for their invaluable support in making our work accessible to our audiences.
